(Image: TT Games)ByJoseph KimeFreelance Gaming News Writer16:57, 6 Aug 2024Updated09:55, 7 Aug 2024The first games from the Xbox Game Pass August 2024 lineup have been revealed, and it looks like leaks correctly predicted the arrival of one iconic marsupial. Xbox Game Pass is about to get a whole lot better, with Xbox officially confirming some new releases set to come to the service's August 2024 lineup that players are bound to gloat about. Recent leaks as well as official reveals that flew under the radar in June and July indicated some big titles could be coming to the Xbox Game Pass August 2024 games lineup, and it seems that they were a touch too accurate, as Microsoft was forced to confirm shortly after the leaks emerged that Mafia: Definitive Edition would be coming to the service on Tuesday, August 13. The leak indicated that there were some big titles to come, and now, Microsoft has revealed that three giant titles, including one coming to the service for the first time as a day one release, are on their way. Here's everything that Xbox has revealed to come to the Xbox Game Pass August 2024 lineup. Xbox Game Pass August 2024 games lineup The following games have been confirmed by Microsoft in a blog post to be coming to the Xbox Game Pass August 2024 roster: Creatures of Ava (Xbox Series X|S, PC, cloud) â August 7 Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy (Console, PC, cloud) â August 8 Mafia: Definitive Edition (Console, PC, cloud) â August 13 This announcement feels like a last-minute addition, almost as though Xbox forgot to mention that the games were coming to the service and presumed that we'd all figured it out by now, which makes a change from the big lineup announcement in July 2024. Creatures of Ava was already revealed to be a day one release on Game Pass back in June, and Xbox revealed that Mafia: Definitive Edition would be coming to the pass at the end of July. The newest confirmation (after also being leaked in July) is, of course, for Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy; the beloved remaster collection that reminded players of just how tough the classic games were. It's been fascinating to watch Crash go from a PlayStation mascot, to being owned by Xbox, and now to being made free to play for Xbox Game Pass subscribers, making arguments about console wars seem a little silly. Though Xbox Poland has now confirmed on Twitter that there are no plans for a 60fps upgrade, at least the game is still playable to subscribers at no extra cost. Games leaving Xbox Game Pass in August 2024 The good news has to come with some bad, as the Xbox Game Pass August 2024 announcement has also come with the reveal that some games will be leaving the service very soon. Here's all the games departing Game Pass on Thursday, August 15: Airborne Kingdoms (console, PC, cloud) Offworld Trading Company (PC) Shadow Warrior 3 (console, PC, cloud) The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (console, PC, cloud) It's a shame to farewell to these games, especially The Texas Chainsaw Massacre which deserved far better than it got at launch â but at least Xbox Game Pass players have a chance to try out a remastered RPG classic and return to the world of Crash Bandicoot.Top Stories Don't Miss FollowMirrorFacebookX (Twitter)MORE ONXbox Game PassXboxXbox Series SXbox Series XXbox OneThe latest console and PC gaming news and reviewsSign upInvalid EmailSomething went wrong, please try again later. We use your sign-up to provide content in ways youâve consented to and improve our understanding of you.
