He was knighted in 1986 and married Paula Yates in the same year. Together they had daughters Fifi Trixibelle, Pixie and Peaches. They divorced ten years later and Yates passed away in 2000. Following his ex-wife's death Geldof adopted her daughter Tiger Lily.
Peaches Geldof was tragically found dead in April 2014.
