With the development and release of our in-house built Bluetooth equipment, we are now able to track all pedestrians or vehicles who have Bluetooth enabled on any device they are carrying.
Using this signal these people can be traced through any requested pre-defined cordon points, thus providing origin-destination and journey time surveys on a large scale, for as long as the client requires.
The equipment is so small it can be positioned almost anywhere, and constantly scans and picks up any Bluetooth signal that passes.
The unique address of each signal is logged, along with the time to the nearest second. A similar process occurs at every chosen cordon point, and once the data is processed through our unique software, it builds up an O-D matrix of the required pedestrian or traffic movements.
The software is then tailored and provided to the client to allow them to further work with the data, and extract any combination of detailed movements that they require.
These units have also been certified for travel on commercial flights thus allowing this innovative equipment to be deployed anywhere that is required.
Our Bluetooth units are usually deployed alongside our HD cameras, and can be installed outside supermarkets for Customer Duration of Stay surveys, train stations, car park duration of stay surveys, stadiums, city centres. The list is almost endless.
Current Bluetooth sample rates run to anywhere from 10-20%, however this is expected to continue increasing over the coming years.
Everything from passengers to vehicles can be carrying equipment which emits a Bluetooth signal which can be tracked using our software.
Once captured, the signal is stored next to the exact time and date at which it was registered.
Each unique signal can then be tracked through a network using our advanced software.
