Christmas Home Tour at Night
There’s something magical about the glow of twinkle lights at Christmas time.✨ Tour 20 holiday homes all decorated with Christmas lights to help you get into the holiday spirit!
A home lit entirely by Christmas lights is my happy place.
This is now the 4th annual Christmas Nights Tour. The last one was two years ago (and such a favorite… a white, wintery wonderland). To all who asked so kindly last year, thank you for understanding that I simply needed a year off. But since this truly is my absolute favorite aspect of this holiday season, I couldn’t resist bringing back the tour. If you’re visiting from Rooms for Rent, welcome! Be sure to check out all the tours linked at the end for more holiday cheer.
Decorating with Christmas Lights
But first, let me show you around. Come enjoy our outdoor Christmas lights (which my younger son helped me string late one night… favorite memories! Sorry, neighbors, for the Christmas music we were playing from the porch the whole time. 😉 )
I couldn’t resist a new wreath and garland for the front door this year, and the bushes on either side are always fun to string with lights.
Inside, more twinkle lights abound. As I shared in my daytime Christmas home tour, I truly kept the Christmas decorating fairly simple. Mostly just greenery and almost naked Christmas trees made up our holiday decor this year.
But simple strings of mini lights work wonders at night: on the piano…
Above the China cabinet…
And wrapped into the garland on the stairwell.
I never feel like the pictures quite do it justice, so I’ve even made a little video for you.
Favorite Christmas Traditions
Things aren’t usually this quiet around here, though.
When I told my kids I was going to take pictures of the Christmas lights, my daughters wanted to be a part of it.
Oh. my. heart.
We had to do all the special things: check out the presents and gift wrap…
Spin the fluffy skirts…
Practice “Jingle Bells” on the piano (goodness, I really need to teach her another song because that one is getting old – ha!)
Light candles…
And eat Christmas cookies.
The joy of this season is almost too much for me to handle.
All is calm…
Once kids are in bed, though, I must admit that I relish the quiet.
The blazing fire in the living room (side note: our fireplace wasn’t working last year, but Mr. Pax managed to fix it this year, and I’m SO grateful!!)…
The entire home lit by twinkle lights…
The Christmas cards from our friends and family on display…
The peace and quiet.
It’s moments like this that allow me to pause and think on the peace that Christmas can bring – no matter what the storms are in this life… and I feel like that this season there are often many.
Peace on earth and mercy mild,
God and sinner reconciled.
I pray you find that peace this year and always. ❤️
