• Armada Historical Society hosting “Show Us What You Got” Antiques and Collectibles Show from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Oct. 12 and 13 at the Grange Hall on the Armada Fair Grounds, 74280 Fair Street, Armada. Bottle and can drive
• Woman’s Life Chapter 855 conducts a continuous bottle and can drive with drop off locations in Richmond and Memphis to help those in the community in need. They also offer a pick up service for larger donations. For more information, call 586-318-4053.
Chili Cook Off
• Father Kramer Knights of Columbus Council 2835 hosting third annual Chili Cook Off noon-3 p.m. Oct. 12 at Cloverleaf Bar and Restaurant, 24443 Gratiot Avenue, Eastpointe. Fall Festival

Garden Club event
• Shelby Gardeners Club hosts David Löwenstein , PhD at 1 p.m. Oct. 10 at the Shadbush Nature Center, 4101 River Bends Drive, Shelby Township. Lowenstein will present ‘Making Your Garden A Haven for Beneficial Insects’ and will explain how to nurture and sustain to keep them returning. Hearing Loss program
• Hearing Loss Association of America will hold a meeting from 1-3 p.m. Sept. 26 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 38900 Harper Ave., Clinton Township. Jan Windemuth, speak about her experience raising a child with a hearing loss. Also present will be that child, Keri Jacob, who is now an adult, raising her own family. Nightmare on Auburn
•Nightmare on Auburn second annual event in downtown Utica from noon-8 p.m. Oct. 5. Downtown Utica will be closed for pedestrian only access with a beer tent, vendors, a live music stage, and family friendly Halloween activity. The main stage features classic Halloween bands including Creepy Clyde and a headline performance from The 3-D Invisibles. Costume contest takes place in the evening for humans and pets and more.
Family activities take place from noon – 3 with trick or treating downtown, cider and donuts, kids crafts, photo booths, and creepy character appearances.
