The 10 best hotels in Park City

Discover the top hotels in Park City handpicked by local expert Esther Carlstone.
Esther Carlstone
October 31, 2024

Renowned for world-famous ski resorts and being the home of the Sundance Film Festival, Park City is a not-so-hidden gem in Utah that attracts outdoor sports enthusiasts, families like my own, and celebrities alike. The mountains and surrounding landscape are a main attraction for skiing and snowboarding in the winter and mountain biking and hiking in the warmer months. Not to mention the charming Main Street filled with renowned restaurants, art galleries and first-class shopping. It’s one of my favorite West Coast destinations that calls me back all year round. While the area is teeming with places to stay, the best hotels in Park City have all the amenities and thoughtful details you need for both adventure vacations and tranquil relaxing escapes. The historic silver mining town is worth a visit any time of the year – here’s my pick of the best places to stay in Park City.

1.

The St. Regis Deer Valley

Address:

2300 Deer Valley Drive East

Price:

$405-$11,412/night

With ski-in-/ski-out access to the renowned Deer Valley Resort, breathtaking mountain views, and luxurious accommodations, this is a mountain resort you’ll never want to leave. Over-the-top amenities like 24/7 butler service, a funicular that takes guests from the hotel to the base, various resort restaurants, and an engaging kids’ club easily make this one of the best hotels in Park City.

After a day outdoors, visit the elegant Remède Spa for a pampering massage or facial, then enjoy panoramic mountain views from the split-level heated infinity pool.

Don’t miss the nightly champagne “ritual” (spoiler: it involves a saber), and be sure to head up to the rooftop bar, one of the few in Park City, for spectacular views and drinks. In the winter, you can ski into The Vintage Bar located right on the mountain for a one-of-a-kind experience.

2.

Waldorf Astoria Park City

Address:

2100 West Frostwood Drive

Price:

$419-$4,220/night

The elegant Waldorf Astoria Park City boasts all the high-end accommodations and amenities you’d expect from the luxury brand. My favorite is their dedicated Frostwood Gondola, which takes you straight to the slopes so you can save time during peak season. There’s also an 18-hole golf course, making this one of the best hotels in Park City for golf lovers.

Head to Powder for an apres-ski meal or pamper yourself with a massage at the award-winning spa. Just book your treatment in advance during high season, as they fill up quickly.

The hot tub is least busy in the early morning or later in the evening, if you want to relax among majestic mountain views with fewer crowds. And I highly recommend taking advantage of the free shuttle service to Main Street and popping into the lovely Dolly’s Bookstore.

3.

Montage Deer Valley

Address:

9100 Marsac Avenue

Price:

$432-$3,747/night

Just five minutes from Main Street and nestled right in the heart of Deer Valley Resort, the location of this sprawling luxury hotel in Park City can’t be beat. The elegantly appointed rooms and suites are spacious and feature cozy touches like heated bathroom floors (heavenly in the winter months), and gas fireplaces to curl up by.

One of the best hotels in Park City, a 35,000 square-foot spa, state-of-the-art gym, heated pool, bowling alley, screening room, and over a half dozen on-site dining options means you never have to leave the Montage other than to hit the slopes.

In addition to their standout kids’ programming, families with younger children will also appreciate the hotel’s complimentary stroller rental program. My favorite way to wind down is to head to the Vista Lounge for an Insta-worthy smoked Manhattan while taking in some talented live musicians.

4.

Stein Eriksen Lodge Deer Valley

Address:

7700 Stein Way

Price:

$259-$7,609/night

Named after the Norwegian Olympic gold medalist alpine ski racer, this luxurious mountain retreat will make you feel like you’re on a European ski holiday. Dark wood and plush leather accents add to the sophisticated ski lodge vibe of the common spaces. The resort offers rooms, suites, and even private homes, all with ski in/out access at Deer Valley Resort.

An award-winning spa, ski valet service, grocery delivery, and babysitting services are just some of the many amenities available for guests. Meanwhile, the on-site Glitretind Restaurant is an absolute can’t-miss – especially their famous Sunday Brunch, which has everything from crab claws and prime rib to sushi.

For a unique experience befitting one of the best hotels in Park City, book an Alpenglobe – a clear temperature-controlled dome on the deck of the Mountain Lodge – to enjoy a meal while taking in panoramic views of the breathtaking scenery.

5.

Hotel Park City, Autograph Collection

Address:

2001 Park Avenue

Price:

$256-$4,079/night

Comprising 100 spacious suites, this is one of the best hotels in Park City for families and large groups. Each suite comes with king beds, a fireplace, bathtub, and a balcony or patio, so you can enjoy the gorgeous scenery from your room.

The resort is near both Park City Mountain Resort and Deer Valley Resort and provides shuttle service during the winter months. When the weather heats up, guests can reserve a tee time at the on-site golf course, hike any of the nearby trails, or go fly fishing. Treating yourself to a treatment at the 10,000 square-foot spa isn’t a bad way to spend the day either.

I highly recommend taking a quick 10-minute walk to the popular Silver Star Cafe and catching one of their live music dinner shows for a memorable way to end your day.

6.

The Chateaux Deer Valley

Address:

7815 Royal Street East

Price:

$192-$4,787/night

Located just across the street from several ski lifts, this four-star mountain spa resort has a decidedly elevated European ski lodge atmosphere. One of the best hotels in Park City, it offers a wide variety of accommodations, from standard rooms to four-bedroom suites with fully stocked kitchenettes and dining and living areas with cozy fireplaces.

The complimentary hot breakfast buffet is a welcome way to start the day (don’t miss the Belgian waffles), and the on-site Italian restaurant, Cena, is a standout. Although personally I prefer the Cena Lounge for a more casual apres-ski vibe – the branzino is one of my go-to dishes.

I suggest taking the free shuttle a couple miles to historic Main Street and swinging by the High West Distillery for a whiskey-making tour and tasting, or popping into the High West Saloon for an apres-ski lunch.

7.

Hyatt Place Park City

Address:

4377 Highway 224

Price:

$116-$1,005/night

Free parking and complimentary hot breakfast are just two of the perks at this roomy property off the beaten path. All of the spacious, modern rooms come with a sofa bed, making this one of the best hotels in Park City for families. The 24/7 Market is also fantastic for grabbing late-night snacks or anything you forgot to pack.

The Canyon Village ski lift – which tends to be less crowded than other ones – is just a short drive or free shuttle ride away. Main Street is a bit further out, but is also easily accessible by shuttle.

If you didn’t come with your own ski/snowboard gear, there’s a Ski ‘N See located conveniently on-site, so you can easily rent everything you need without having to leave the hotel. Those traveling with furry friends will be happy to learn this is also a pet-friendly hotel.

8.

Newpark Resort

Address:

1456 Newpark Boulevard

Price:

$120-$713/night

One of the best boutique hotels in Park City, the Newpark Resort offers standard guest rooms, suites and full townhomes for those looking for a little more space. Located in the Newpark Town Center, you’ll be just steps away from a wide variety of shopping and dining options. I love to sit down for some warming Japanese hot pot at Kuchu Shabu after a long day out in the snow.

Free parking and shuttles make it a breeze to get to both the ski slopes and Main Street, just a short drive away. In the spring and summer, make sure to leave time to take a scenic drive through Wasatch Mountain to the Jordanelle Reservoir, where you can kayak, go paddleboarding, or spend the day fishing. Come back and unwind in the steam room and sauna for an idyllic day.

9.

Hyatt Centric Park City

Address:

3551 North Escala Court

Price:

$257-$3,037/night

This contemporary ski in/out hotel marries luxury with convenience in all the best ways. Located in Canyon Village, it’s close to various Park City attractions like Main Street and downtown Park City. As one of the best hotels in Park City, the Hyatt Centric offers sizable rooms, suites, and residences with modern amenities like gas fireplaces and coffeemakers.

After a long day of hiking or skiing, there’s nothing better than a dip in the heated pool while gazing out at the stunning landscape, before sipping on some hot cocoa during the happy hour in the lobby.

There’s an on-site restaurant that serves locally sourced cuisine, but I recommend taking the complimentary shuttle to the award-winning Riverhorse on Main. It’s a perfect date night spot that serves delicious seasonal fare and hand-crafted cocktails, often accompanied by local musicians. Both self-parking and valet are complimentary at the resort.

10.

Grand Summit Hotel

Address:

4000 Canyons Resort Drive

Price:

$214-$3,528/night

The best hotels in Park City offer both convenience and comfort, and the Grand Summit is no exception. Exuding rustic elegance, this ski in/out resort sits on the base of Park City Mountain Resort, allowing direct access to the snowy slopes or the hills beyond for summer adventuring.

All of the suites have kitchenettes and a mud room area that’s perfect for stowing bulky gear. Other amenities, including a ski school, childcare center, playground, indoor and outdoor pool, and close proximity to the Hogle Zoo, make this a perfect base for families. Multiple hot tubs also mean you’re not always stuck in an overcrowded one.

There’s a wide variety of shopping and dining options you can walk to in Canyon Village and if you’re craving dessert, I highly recommend a churro sandwich at Dos Olas Cantina – they’re to-die-for. Main Street is further out, but just a free shuttle ride away.
