Lebanon is a Middle Eastern nation located along the Mediterranean Sea. It directly borders Israel to the South and Syria to the North and East.
The nation has been in several conflicts with Israel over the past several decades and tensions along the border happen regularly, particularly with the large Lebanon-based terrorist organization Hezbollah, which wields significant political power in the country.
Israel and Hezbollah agreed to a US-brokered 60-day ceasefire that calls for a phased Israeli military pullout after more than a year of war.
