Dale Albert Berg, 74, died on June 27. He was a professional financial consultant and Arlington Heights American Legion Merle Guild Post 208 commander. He was a member of the Sons of American Legion, Arlington Heights Veterans of Foreign War Post 981, and Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 311. Berg is survived by two sons, four grandchildren, a sister, two brothers, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Sharon. Raymond Dumalski, Jr.

Raymond Dumalski, Jr., 83, died on June 21. After working part-time for WGN, he joined the U.S. Army Reserves in 1962. He was trained at San Antonio Army Hospital as a combat medic, serving at Great Lakes Naval Hospital, taking care of wounded Vietnam vets as they came home from the war. He was the husband of Sandra and father of the late Ardis. Funeral arrangements were provided by Ryan-Parke Funeral Home, Park Ridge.

Bob Fillmore, 62, died on June 13. He is survived by his wife, Amy, three children and their spouses, two sisters, sisters-in-laws, nephews and nieces, and great-nephews and nieces. Gerald Goldman, 87, an Army veteran who served during the post-Korean era, died recently. He was an executive in the auto leasing business for 50 years. Doris C. Harvel, 89, formerly of Wheeling, died on June 27. She was the wife of the late Gene, mother of five, stepmother of three, grandmother of 18, step-grandmother of 10, great-grandmother of 18, and step-great-grandmother of 11. She was a long-time member of St. Mary Church in Des Plaines and a member of the Des Plaines Elks Club. Funeral arrangements were provided by G.L. Hills Funeral Home, Des Plaines.

Eric Jonland, 65, died on June 17. He graduated from Maine South High School in 1977. He was a long-time employee of Gunzo’s Sports Center. James Robert Kuhr, 82, died on June 30. He served in the Army and was stationed in Germany. He was a 35-year Combined Insurance employee. He is survived by his wife, Marie, a son and daughter, and five grandchildren. Glueckert Funeral Home, Arlington Heights, handled arrangements.
Joseph Angel Ramirez
of Wheeling
Joseph Angel Ramirez, 68, died on July 1. He was the father of two, grandfather of four, brother, uncle, and cousin. Ramirez loved estate sales, thrift shops, the Three Stooges and “The First 48.” He put his pride and energy into his 30-year-old business, Ramirez Compost. Rev. Lawrence F. Springer
of Niles
Rev. Lawrence F. Springer, 90, died on June 28. He was a priest for 75 years and a retired senior priest and former associate at St. Zachary Parish in Des Plaines for 25 years. Springer had seven other assignments in parishes in the Archdiocese of Chicago, including St. John Brebeuf in Niles. Skaja Terrace Funeral Home, Niles, handled arrangements.

Helen R. Will, 92, died on June 14. She was the wife of Albert, mother of two, sister, grandmother of six, and aunt. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, card games, making cookies, and jello molds. Funeral arrangements were provided by Friedrichs Funeral Home, Mount Prospect.
Gary D. Winkle
of Mount Prospect
Gary D. Winkle, 75, died on June 21. Winkle owned Northwest Suburban Patrol and served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He is survived by his sister, Connie Fugett, and Glen Winkle. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Kenny. Friedrichs Funeral Home, Mount Prospect, handled arrangements.
