Studying at Kyushu University on Exchange Program
Kyushu University accepts students from universities with which we have university-wide exchange agreements (partner universities) via three main programs. Click here for the list of Kyushu University’s partner universities.

Please consult the department in charge of international student exchange programs at your university for details of the application process. Please note that we do not accept applications directly from individual students, so please ensure that you apply via the department in charge of international student exchange programs at your university.
International exchange students may study in the JTW or JLCC programs, or at an undergraduate or graduate school.

This program is for undergraduate students majoring in any subject. Courses are taught in English.

This program is for undergraduate students majoring in Japanese studies at their home institution. Courses are taught in Japanese.

Schools & Centers
Students may take courses offered by Kyushu University’s undergraduate and graduate schools. Graduate students who wish to do research may request research supervision.
Most of the subjects are taught in Japanese, so students will be required a Japanese language proficiency of Level 1 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test or the equivalent level.
Some undergraduate and graduate schools offer courses taught in English. If the school of your choice offers enough courses taught in English, we will accept students whose English language proficiency is demonstrated by a TOEFL score of at least iBT 79 or IELTS 6.0.Classes Conducted in English for Exchange Students.
