Two Boeing 737 US military planes were at the airport in Co Clare on Saturday morning. The US military has been using Shannon Airport for more than 20 years.
Three people were arrested as they walked toward the planes with a Palestine flag and a sign that said "US military out of Shannon", reports the Irish Mirror.
On their Facebook page, the GPSC said: "The organizers, including two members of the Galway Palestine Solidarity Campaign, were detained by gardai as they approached the US military planes with a flag of Palestine and a banner that said 'US military out of Shannon'.
"The US military is an active partner in Israel’s genocide of the Palestinian people and has no place in our airport, the Irish government must end their use of Shannon."
Gardai arrested the three protesters on public order offenses. A garda spokesman said: "Gardai arrested three individuals for alleged public order offences at Shannon Airport, Co. Clare this morning, Saturday, 30 March."
"Two women, both aged in their 30s, and a man, aged in his 20s, were detained in a Garda Station in Co Clare. All three have since been charged and are expected to appear at Nenagh District Court this evening (Saturday) at 5pm."
