Rugs

At IKEA, we have a lot of passions and interests, but one look at our rugs collection will prove we sometimes play favorites! With hundreds of indoor rugs to choose from—and a selection that is always updating and expanding—finding the right rugs for every room in your home is easy and affordable. No matter the size, texture, pile, color, pattern or shapes you need, you’ll find the right fit for your style and space here.

Six VÄGSKYLT door mats and rugs, three pink/orange and three blue-green/black, are rolled up or standing on a pink floor.

Ready to roll

Made from machine washable, easy-to-vacuum cotton and available in two bold colors and sizes, these new VÄGSKYLT rugs are ready to be walked all over.

Friend of your feet and floors

From the day’s first step to moving about your home, rugs add a layer of comfort to the room. The coziness aside, a thick stain-resistant STOENSE rug – available in a variety of sizes and colors – also helps to calm things down by reducing noise.

Indoor rugs for every sense of style

We work with a variety of talented designers to keep our indoor rugs collection fresh, fun and full of unique options year-round. Whether you’re updating your look any time of year, or preparing for a holiday, you’ll find an assortment of designs to suit every preferred aesthetic, from Scandinavian to contemporary to modern farmhouse, and everything in between.

Rugs that help a space take shape

A staple in nearly every home, the reasons we all love and use area rugs are as numerous as the options available at IKEA. And while we love the color and warmth they provide, we think one of their most impressive talents is helping define the borders of a space within a room.

Whether you live in a studio apartment or large open-concept home, defining spaces within that larger area can sometimes prove difficult. Indoor rugs help to ground a space, serving as the full stage or a focal point.

Exploring the studio apartment example, using separate rugs in the living and sleeping area help to make a visual separation, no walls required. And for the open floor plan example, a large area rug can serve as the centerpiece of a furniture grouping. Suddenly, a space-within-a-space has been clearly defined and can function as a “room” without borders.

Area rugs that make an impression

When you’re installing wall-to-wall carpeting, it makes sense to choose a neutral color that won’t overwhelm your space or your senses. But the exact opposite can be true for smaller area rugs. Thanks to their smaller size and the ease of switching them up regularly, investing in a few fun and colorful options can elevate the look and feel of any room. Consider a bold abstract pattern rug for a contemporary look, or have fun with stripes, polka dots and more. There’s no wrong way to rug!
