THE GDHF AGENDA & TRACKS

Tracks

  • Brought to you by the Patrick J. McGovern Foundation

As the global health landscape undergoes rapid digital transformation, the promise of artificial intelligence to revolutionize healthcare is clear. Yet, many challenges remain in ensuring these advances reach those who need them most. Health systems in low- and middle-income countries continue to grapple with fragmented data, limited resources, and systemic inequities that hinder access to quality care. At the same time, the rise of AI presents unprecedented opportunities to bridge these gaps—enabling more accurate diagnostics, personalized treatment plans, and proactive public health strategies.

The AI for Health Equity track at the 2024 Global Digital Health Forum, sponsored by The Patrick J. McGovern Foundation, will foster dialogue and innovation to address these pressing issues. This track will convene global leaders, technologists, and community advocates to explore how AI can be leveraged to transform health systems, improve care delivery, and empower underserved communities. Attendees will engage in dynamic sessions that highlight the latest in AI-driven health solutions.

Through a series of plenary panels, hands-on workshops, and solution showcases, this track will illuminate the role of AI in promoting health equity—ensuring that advancements in digital health are not just revolutionary, but also inclusive and just. Join us to explore how we can harness the power of AI to build resilient, people-centered health systems that uphold human dignity and drive positive outcomes for all.

  • Brought to you by Digital Square at PATH, Wellcome, and The Rockefeller Foundation

Climate change threatens to derail much of the progress in global health, especially in communities already affected by health and economic disparities. To safeguard human health in the face of climate change, digital public infrastructure (DPI) at national, regional, and global levels needs to better incorporate climate and weather data.

The Climate-informed Data Services for Health track—sponsored by Digital Square at PATH during the 2024 Global Digital Health Forum—includes presentations, workshops, lightning talks and posters designed to spark conversation and action around cross-cutting topics:

    • The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance carbon credit systems and strengthen climate-impacted health systems

    • Integrating localized climate and health indicators into vulnerability assessments

    • Leveraging global goods (GGs) for climate-informed health programming

    • Ensuring sexual reproductive and rights (SRHR) and mental health in the face of climate-impacted community care

    • Defining shared baseline data architecture requirements across climate and health

    • Understanding changes in climate-induced Malaria mortality rates

    • Building climate health resilience through coordinated investment in digital public goods (DPGs)

These sessions will showcase the evidence base and inform new collaborative projects supporting climate-informed health data services. As a result of these conversations and by leveraging cross-sectoral DPI and DPGs, we can advance integrated climate and health sciences and better protect human health from climate change, extreme weather, and climate-sensitive health hazards.
