I have been looking hard at outdoor furniture--mostly teak, and have come across quite a few couches that could be beds. I would love to have vintage black wrought iron, but had looked for a year or so, and never found a single piece. In the meantime, we needed something to sit on! I bought 4 chairs, a bench, and 2 side tables from Lowes for less than $700. We've only had them a few months, but we love the set! They're cast aluminum, very comfortable, and sturdy. My criteria was similar to yours, but since some of the pieces would be totally exposed to the elements, I didn't want any steel construction at all. I also wanted them to comfortable without any cushions, since I knew it would be futile to put them on the pieces that sit in the sun and rain. I'd like to get at least some pillows for the pieces on the covered porch, but it's more for color than comfort.

I think with all the sling now, cushions are not a good choice. Sling furniture is VERY comfortable, but it's also cooler than cushions since it breathes. It also dries a lot faster. And it doesn't get mold and mildew like cushions can. It's also very easy to clean. You do want to get well-made sling furniture, though. There is a lot of cheap stuff out there. Spend the money and get the better stuff. For deck dining chairs, I bought the Outdoor Interiors Eucalyptus sling chair. I LOVE them. They are so comfortable and the perfect size. You do have to put them together, but it's easy to do if you know how to use an Allen wrench! Also, the wood does scratch easily. But they stack nicely, hold up very well, are very good lookingâ¦you can read the reviews (including mine!) on Amazon. Four others have chimed in with five stars. The Outdoor Interiors furniture is very good looking. I'd also look at Winston, Telescopeâ¦again, get well-made stuff or you're regret it. Well, I would rather have the room painted before the new furniture is moved in. Thank you for the compliment re color palette. I am leaning towards cream colors for sofa and chair. Since this room is in the visual from the kitchen, it need to be the same color in my opinion. It will not looked chopped up this way.
