Steam Deck hits 17,000 games playable and verified

By -

Another big milestone has been reached by Valve with their handheld Linux gaming PC, with the Steam Deck hitting 17,000 games rated playable or verified.

If you're curious on how long it's taken to hit various milestones Valve hit 13,000 in January, 14,000 in March, 15,000 in May and 16,000 in August. Filtering specifically just to games on Steam at time of writing there's 5,678 Verified, 11,323 Playable and 4,432 Unsupported.

Some fun games that recently got steam deck verified Deck Verified include:

Some other games are easier to play now too like Marvel’s Midnight Suns, since the 2K Launcher is finally no more! We also only just recently had another Proton Experimental upgrade to bring more compatibility as well. Plus a stable update Proton 9.0-4 is now in testing too! Things are always moving to get as many games working as possible.

I've been covering various games that get Steam Deck Verified across different articles so if you want some more highlights here's a few to check back on:

There's a lot of games you can play outside of Steam too, although they do need a little extra setup. Like GOG, Epic Games and more via tools like the Heroic Games Launcher. Remember that Valve's numbers here only include what they've put through testing, and only on Steam — so the overall real number is far higher.

Are you curious to know what games with anti-cheat are playable? I'm currently building up our own dedicated curated list on that to help you. See more details in my forum post (please leave all comments on that in there).

Another list you can check out as well is Are We Anti-Cheat Yet? but not sure how often they update it.

this number may be good, but the number of games on steam grow much faster than the number of games that valve is able to test, so the % of games that run on linux get smaller and smaller everyday.

Well . . . the % of games that officially run on Steam Deck.
Proton just keeps getting developed, so the % that run in fact on Linux, on a normal form factor PC, probably keeps growing.
