Penang’s become famous for its street art thanks to the work of Lithuanian artist Ernest Zacharevic, who was commissioned to create a series of six wall murals across the town for the 2012 George Town Festival.
This project was called Mirrors George Town. Some of the most well-known wall paintings include ‘Kung-Fi Girl’ on Muntri Street and ‘Boy on Motorbike’ on Quee Street.
They’ve been hugely popular ever since as they bring the local people to life, providing glimpses into everyday goings on of the city as well as often being fun and interactive – for example, perch on the back of the bike at ‘Kids on a Bicycle’.
Other artists have followed this style, as with other pieces of art, like ‘Brother and Sister on a Swing’ on Gat Lebuh Chulia.

"And a whisper awoke on the wilderness, sighing,
Like the voice of the heroes who battled in vain,
“Not for Tearlach alone the red claymore was plying,
But to bring back the old life that comes not again.” A. Lang
Not far from Inverness, the 18th Century farmhouse still stands, a silent witness to the tragic battle of 1746 where 2000 Highlanders lost their lives in a desperate bid for their land and freedom. Those who survived were hunted down and executed. This marked the end of the Jacobite cause and with it an old way of life. The ruthless "highland clearances" (the expulsion of the Gaels) which followed led many Scots to emigrate from Scotland to the new world.

Street blue fruit shop, running in the middle of the night, India...
Even though is blurred, still brings the sense of speediness, color and activity that I see in every street at any time...
That reminded me of the white rabbit of "Alice in Wonderland":
"Oh dear, oh dear,
I shall be too late!"
Take your time and have a nice day!
CP's Winona local pulls 38 covered hoppers from Bay State Milling down Wall Street in Winona. When I was at WSU, my GF lived in the two story brick house on the right, and I remember seeing red and white Soo GP38-2s go by regularly. Built in 1886, I'm sure that place has seen it all.
