My daughter, Eve, got really excited when she saw the moon yesterday (she's 3 years old). So I told her we should take a photo - together we set up the 400mm lens on the tripod and I held her up to see the live view while I got the settings right.
She happily told me it was her moon, so here it is with it's proper name!
When we came back from our New Years Eve hike this view greeted us at our front door! While I had my 70/300 lens on my camera I pulled it out of the bag and shot hand held. Last moon of 2017 in Bradenton, FL.
ÂMoon over the Pacific Ocean at 3:30 am during the lunar eclipse last week.
ÂHappy Monday! Thanks, as always, for stopping by and for your kind comments, awards and faves -- I appreciate them all.

. . . The moon is almost full, the year is almost over!
ÂHappy New Year Facebook, Flickr, and 500px friends!
ÂAn old photo that I liked. It was used for the game that I and my group made.
Note: I just took a shot and don't edited it with any software.
I don't know what the red dot is. It can't be a reflection as i took it outdoors on my Cannon camera But it seems to be moving around the moon?
Are we going to die? I think so.
Going nowhere fast, as if it's all we know
Tied up, beaten, tortured, with no place else to go
We've all been through this, some with scars to show
Driving forward, falling towards impending doom
Intoxicated by the blood of the moon
I've driven in the final nail into my coffin
My head is killing me, reminding me
Of what I have done to myself
This is the end of life as we know it
Following the path chosen by our guide
A giant of a man, living two different lives
Not a moment's grace, this is where we draw the line
Face our fears or face the facts, this is where we die
We're on our own
But in this together
This is the end, prepare to die...!
The Wolf Moon is a full moon that occurs in January. Its name comes from hungry wolf packs that would howl outside the villages of Native Americans. This full moon is also known as the Old Moon or the Moon After Yule.
ÂIt was 5 degrees when I bundled up and went out to get this shot.....but it was well worth it, the moon was huge and bright!
