Events

Every year, a large number of events – from marathons and hunger marches, to exhibitions, cultural performances, contests and concerts – are organised in around 150 countries across the world to celebrate World Food Day.

Businesses, NGOs, journalists, governments, cities, civil society organizations and individuals, took advantage of this opportunity to call for action!

This year's World Food Day Flagship events made waves! Watch the webcast of the World Food Day Ceremony and Junior World Food Day School Assembly event.

The global ceremony marking World Food Day 2024 took place here today, with participants underlining the need for universal access to enough diverse, nutritious, affordable, and safe foods. The event came amid growing global tensions and conflicts and climate shocks, which are among factors contributing to the challenge of hundreds of millions of people worldwide facing hunger and billions being unable to afford a healthy diet.

Junior World Food Day School Assembly webcast

Nearly 1,000 students, aged 8 to 14, joined international food leaders, youth activists, and food heroes in a lively event filled with stories, music, quizzes, and games. The dynamic gathering sparked dialogue and inspired action for a sustainable, food-secure future.

The Events page aims to highlight all related activities and events on an interactive map that promote the campaign.  
The Events page also aims to encourage the public and all stakeholders and partners to participate and showcase their efforts in raising awareness about the year.
All users of the website that contribute to the Events page content, by registering their activity on the Events page, hereby acknowledge and agree to the following:  
General Provisions
-	Users acknowledge and accept to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, and the FAO’s Terms and Conditions (http://www.fao.org/contact-us/terms/en/). In the event of a conflict or inconsistency between these Terms and Conditions and FAO’s Terms and Conditions (http://www.fao.org/contact-us/terms/en/), the present Terms and Conditions shall prevail to the extent necessary to resolve such conflict or inconsistency.
-	FAO has the right to remove from the Events page any information which is not in compliance with these Terms and Conditions and the FAO’s Terms and Conditions (http://www.fao.org/contact-us/terms/en/) and 
-	Information provided by users who wish to submit one or more events, when registering via the form will be processed by FAO and stored in the Events page database in accordance with FAO’s corporate procedures, including its Privacy Policy (http://www.fao.org/contact-us/privacy-policy/en/). Such information will be used and may be made available to third parties exclusively for services related to and within the purposes of the Events page and Features, or FAO institutional activities.
Users’ access
-	When registering on the Events page, users will be required to submit data, including Contact Data and Personal Data as defined in FAO’s Privacy Policy. Such data may comprise name, surname, country/location of the event, email address and area of expertise of users and, when applicable, the name and contact details of the organization or company they are representing or working for. All information shared with the website will be identified with the users’ name and/or affiliation. -	Login details required to access the Events page are strictly personal and should not be shared with others. 
-	FAO reserves the right to verify the eligibility of users or that of any entry (including users’ identity and address) and to not publish or remove any user who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions or who tampers with the entry process. By submitting entries to the Events page, users agree that their Contact and Personal Data may be processed, shared, and otherwise used for the purposes and within the context of the Events page and any other purposes outlined in these Terms and Conditions.
-	FAO reserves the right at any time, and from time to time, to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, the Events page, including any means of accessing or utilizing it, at its sole discretion with or without prior notice to users.
-	FAO may at its sole discretion, under any circumstances, for any or no reason whatsoever and with or without prior notice to users, terminate any user’s access to the FAO website, including to any means of accessing or utilizing it.
Responsibility of Users
