Aware of new trends in education and the growing demand for soil-related information, the GSP offers e-learning courses, video tutorials and training materials through the open source Educational Platform 'EduSoils'.
Capacity development in action
FAO’s Global Soil Partnership (GSP) has centered capacity development at the heart of its main activities. Since its inception in 2012, the GSP has supported member countries and GSP Partners through training workshops, webinars and the publication of technical manuals and reports. Reflecting the fact that soils provide multiple and diverse ecosystem services, the GSP’s capacity development initiatives range from topics about sustainable soil management practices all the way to advancing the use of digital technologies, and much more!
Soil Salinity Mapping
FAO-GSP is developing the Global Soil Salinity map (GSSmap) to update the global and country-level information on salt-affected soils and lay ground for future periodic monitoring.

Soil Doctors Programme
The programme provides soil doctors with training, educational material and soil testing kits to build capacity on the principles of soil science and promote the practice of sustainable soil management.

SOC Mapping
The Global Soil Organic Carbon map (GSOCmap) was produced by countries through a participatory process. Experts were trained on tools and methodologies to develop national maps.
