Yadira Arroyo spent her life caring for others.

A loving mum to five kids, Yadira, 44, was a paramedic for the New York Fire Department.

She was dedicated to her work, driving her ambulance and saving lives.

By 16 March 2017, she’d served the fire department for 14 years.

That freezing evening, there was deep snow on the ground as Yadira started her shift with workmate Monique Williams.
