EPIDURAL injections are used by vets to provide pain relief and muscle relaxation to the hind region of a horse’s body. They involve the injection of drugs into the epidural space, which lies between the spinal cord and bony spinal canal. Epidurals can therefore be helpful for procedures or conditions involving the pelvis, pelvic limbs, tail, perineum and abdomen.
