A viral video on TikTok has half the internet wondering "Where's the cake??" It all began when Ryan Nordheimer (@ryannordheimer) shared the details of a birthday dinner that took a turn for the worse when half the extravagant cake he made disappeared.

"So this is the story of how a restaurant in New York City ended up eating half of this incredible birthday cake that I made for my friend for his birthday," he revealed before sharing the story.

According to Nordheimer, when he arrived at the restaurant he handed the cake to the hostess to bring out after dinner. The cake was then brought to the table, a candle was placed in it, and then it was taken to the back to be sliced.

And here's where things get a little sour. Nordheimer explained that he was a bit confused when small slivers of cake were brought out as slices given the "massive" size of the cake.

"So just doing some rough estimations, there were 12 of us at the dinner. If we're each served a slice about this size or maybe it's a little bigger, that's gonna be about half of that massive cake. Definitely not all the cake was served to us," he said.

Despite his estimations, when they asked for the rest of the cake to take home, the group was told there was no cake left.

Nordheimer admitted that he can see why workers would want a sweet treat after a long shift, but added that it was "a little disappointing" that his friend was unable to take any birthday cake home.

And let's just say that the internet was far less understanding of the situation.

"You are being kind. The servers are not entitled to a slice. That restaurant owes you some compensation," another person added.
