KASUR: Three persons died while nine suffered injuries in fog-related road accidents, on Thursday.

According to Rescue 1122, Muhammad Sagheer, 40, of Sahiwal along with Talha, 26, was on his way to Sahiwal from Pattoki in his car. When they reached near Abbas Hotel, Pattoki Chowk, on Multan Road a van hit the car from its rear side as its driver could not see the car in dense fog.

As a result, both the car riders suffered injuries. Talha succumbed to his injuries on the spot while Sagheer was rushed to the tehsil headquarters hospital in a critical condition. The unidentified van driver managed to escape.

In another for-related accident, a tractor-trolley loaded with sugarcane fell into the Rohi Nullah after hitting a rickshaw that was carrying three women near village Jabimail on Raiwind Road in the limits of Raja Jang police.

The rickshaw and its riders, namely Rani Bibi, 50, Jamila Bibi, 41, and Hina, 16, also fell into the Nullah.

Locals and Rescue 1122 officials took out bodies of Jamila and Hina from the nullah while Rani was shifted to the THQ Hospital.

The drivers of the rickshaw and tractor-trolley and two labourers suffered injuries and they were given first aid on the spot.

Separately, three persons, namely Naseer Ahmed, 45, Anees, 35, and Ghulam Hussain, 46, suffered serious injuries when their car was hit by a truck amid thick fog on Multan Road near village Jambar in the limits of Phoolnagar Police Station.

The injured were shifted to Trauma Centre, Phoolnagar.
