Browns Kickoff 2025 Sunday at 4

Browns kickoff their 2025 slate Sunday afternoon at 4 vs Dallas. This should be a fun home game with a ruckus crowd.

All that said, what is the state of their kicking game heading into week one? The starters at punter and kicker are set to still be the same. Those men are punter Corey Bojorquez and kicker Dustin Hopkins.

There is no issue at punter. He is healthy, good at his job and ready to go. The problems surround the kicking situation in the short term. Hopkins was injured in the preseason. He was limited and they even had a second kicker.

Did Dustin get to practice the new kickoff rules enough? Is he ready for that for games? Certainly he learned the new style and has been preparing for it. But he also did not even get the little experience in that new format that his counterparts did.

Is Dustin healthy enough to play the first game? That answer should be "yes" he is healthy. According to CBS he was not on the injury report earlier today September 4. It should be assumed then that he will be dressed, ready and kicking for points.

Should he also handle kickoffs already in week one. The answer here is a confusing maybe. The formula has changed as the kickoff is different this year. I would sit a backend receiver that won't see time anyway and use a second kicker that had preseason kickoff practice. Suffice it to say I do not think the Browns will do that though. If Hopkins does handle the kickoffs he should probably try for touchbacks week one with all things considered.

All in all expect to see both starters out there. Expect a good game at punter and hopefully only a little rust at kicker.
