Tonight kicks off the 2025 Award Season with the return of the 82nd Golden Globes. The annual award show is being hosted by comedian Nikki Glaser at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles.
But before the award show that highlights excellence in both film and television begins, celebrities took to the red carpet to chat with the press, show off their outfits and more. Here were some of the top moments according to social media.
1. Glen Powell meets his lookalike
Lookalike contests were all the rage this Fall after the Timothée Chalamet Lookalike Contest became national news at the end of October, with the actual Chalamet even making an appearance. Two lookalikes were spotted on the red carpet, Miles Mitchell, who won the Chalamet contest, and Maxwell Braunstein, who was hand-selected by Glen Powell’s mom Cyndy as the winner. E! News captured the moment when Powell met Braunstein on the red carpet; they hugged and snapped a selfie which fans online couldn’t get enough of.
2. Ariana Grande’s red carpet look draws inspiration from Audrey Hepburn
Fans loved Ariana Grande’s red carpet outfit, which looked similar to classic old Hollywood looks worn by Audrey Hepburn. This appeared to be a trend for Grande during the “Wicked” rollout, for which she received a nomination for best supporting actress for her performance in the film.

3. Ayo Edebiri’s Golden Globes looks is a nod to Julia Roberts
Grande wasn’t the only actor to pull fashion inspiration from another Hollywood star. “The Bear” actress Ayo Edebiri appeared to emulate Julia Roberts’ iconic gray suit and tie look from the 1990 Golden Globes.
4. Jamie Foxx opens up about having a stroke in 2023
Jamie Foxx spoke with Variety about his health scare. The actor credited his daughter, Corinne, for stepping up during the difficult time. Foxx shared that he was told by his nurse that he was a “5 percenter,” meaning that “less than 5% of people that have what you have walk out of here.”
5. Only Murders in the Building reunion
It’s the cast that keeps on giving. Steve Martin and Martin Short crashed their costar, Selena Gomez’s red carpet interview with Variety. The trio has become fan favorites during award season for their fun dynamic on and off the screen.
