Representatives from CNI member organizations gather twice annually. In the current public health emergency, we have moved the Fall 2020 meeting virtual and spread it out across about a month to take advantage of the virtual environment; the meeting will culminate in two afternoons (Eastern Time) on December 14-15, when the in-person meeting had been scheduled, to include the Executive Roundtable and plenary presentations. Each member organization may send two representatives. Registration details have been sent to member representatives.
Four weeks will be devoted to project briefings: three weeks based on the major themes of CNI’s Program Plan, and the final week devoted to emerging issues and crises. See theme descriptions for more information.
Project briefings are the very heart of every membership meeting, allowing participants to interact informally about projects, initiatives, and ideas of their own choosing. Plenary sessions include presentations of CNI’s latest initiatives as well as insights from national and international leaders in the networked information community.

Clifford Lynch, Coalition for Networked Information

Clifford Lynch has led the Coalition for Networked Information (CNI) since 1997. He is a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the National Information Standards Organization. In 2017, Lynch was selected as an Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) Fellow. He also serves as adjunct professor at Berkeley’s School of Information.

Paul Evan Peters Memorial Lecture: 21st Century Data: The First 30 Years

Francine Berman, Edward P. Hamilton Distinguished Professor of Computer Science at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Katherine Hampson Bessell Fellow at the Radcliffe Institute at Harvard University, was named the 2020 recipient of the Paul Evan Peters Award earlier this year. She will deliver the Paul Evan Peters Memorial Lecture.
