Even by Roma's already absurd standards, this week has been bananas. From tracking the Friedkins flight itinerary to debating the merits of Frank Lampard as manager to questioning why an otherwise healthy Paulo Dybala will be left out of the lineup, there's been controversy a plenty around Trigoria this week—and we haven't even mentioned the Ivan Juric of it all.
After replacing Daniele De Rossi in mid-September, Juric has struggled to make his mark, with his questionable lineup selections and ineffective tactics drawing scorn in every corner of the Italian capital. With his job increasingly in danger and former Italian National Team manager Roberto Mancini reportedly waiting in the wings, Juric’s fate as Giallorossi manager may already be sealed.
We may not know for sure until Monday morning, but believe it or not, more pressing matters are at play today. With the club mired in 12th place and losing three of its past four matches, Roma needs a win today—full stop. Anything less would see the Giallorossi tumble further down the league table and toward the dreaded drop zone, currently occupied by Lecce, Monza, and Venezia.
The lineups are in, so let's see if Juric can save some face in what is likely his last match at the helm.
