Ask U.S. Panel Pilot

Data collection and federal funding for the panel pilot has ended.

The Ask U.S. Panel pilot was a pilot (or test) of large nationally representative survey panel led by the U.S. Census Bureau. One section of the pilot was for the general population and one was for military members and their spouses. The Ask U.S. Panel pilot invited households across the country to participate in an initiative to improve the ways the federal government collects information from the public. Eligible households and individuals who joined the panel answered surveys about food and nutrition, transportation, employment, education, and more. Panel members received monetary compensation for the surveys they completed. This panel pilot and its surveys were conducted by RTI International, on behalf of the U.S. Census Bureau in partnership with other federal agencies. The panel consisted of individuals and households living across the U.S. that have agreed to be contacted and invited to participate in surveys led by the U.S. Census Bureau and other federal agencies.

More information about the panel pilot is available in the Ask U.S. Panel Pilot General Population Final Report.
