11 Iconic Sitcoms That Aged Like Milk, And 17 That Stood The Test Of Time

"I barely watched The Middle when it first came out when I was younger, but my husband and I recently started it from the beginning, and holy CRAP, it is the absolute funniest!"

A while back, I rounded up some classic sitcoms people think aged either surprisingly well or super terribly. In the comments, members of the BuzzFeed Community shared even more examples.

Here are 11 sitcoms people aged super terribly:

    1. "The Andy Griffith Show is total cringe. So much misogyny, and the number of times Barney accidentally fired his weapon — it's hard to believe that was once considered funny."

Don Knotts in a suit, bowtie, and hat, and Andy Griffith in a patterned shirt and jacket

    2. "I find Growing Pains unwatchable, the way Mike always calls his sisters names and the fat jokes."

Kirk Cameron sitting on a couch, wearing a patterned shirt, appears to be mid-conversation in a living room setting

    3. "I will die on this hill: The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air did not age well, and Uncle Phil isn't even the top 5 best TV dads. Will was a teenager dating grown women every other episode, and Phil and Vivian just let it happen. Phil blamed Will for everything that went wrong, even if he had nothing to do with it."

Uncle film in a suit and Will dresses casually, staring at each other in the living room

    4. "I still enjoy Seinfeld, but one thing that stands out 30 years later are the episodes where they poked fun at suicide."

in his kitchen, Jerry jokes, "You know, I don't get that whole suicide machine. There's no tall buildings where these people live?"

    5. "Sex and the City aged horribly, too. Samantha, Aidan, and Steve were the only good people in that show."

Cynthia Nixon, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis and Kim Cattrall walk down a city street. They are dressed stylishly

    6. "The Love Boat. Never missed an episode back in the day. Now, it just seems awful. Having the ship’s doctor chasing after passengers, ugh."

    7. "I loved Night Court as a young adolescent, and I wasn't alone — it was widely considered very funny. I watched some last year, and it's not even remotely funny."

John Larroquette and Harry Anderson in suits and Markie Post in a professional outfit with beaded necklaces posing in a court room setting

    8. "I Love Lucy. Loved it. Now hate it. The way Lucy had to manipulate her husband constantly."
