Law Roach Shared How Zendaya Changed His “Financial Situation” By Making Sure He Is “Taken Care Of”

    Law Roach has revealed more about how Zendaya has advocated for him throughout their decade-spanning partnership.

    As I’m sure you know, Law first started styling Zendaya when she was a teenage Disney star, and since then, they’ve become one of the most iconic fashion duos in Hollywood.

    Though he is best known for working with Zendaya, Law has also styled the likes of Sir Lewis Hamilton, Celine Dion, and Bella Hadid. He’s also been known to work closely with those in Zendaya’s inner circle, like her boyfriend, Tom Holland, and her Euphoria costar, Hunter Schafer.

    Law and Z have talked openly about how their relationship transcends that of a typical celebrity/stylist pairing. And now, speaking on the latest episode of the Naked Beauty podcast, Law told hosts Sir John and Brooke DeVard about how deep their bond goes.

    “Even as a young girl, she has always advocated [for] me to be in every room,” Law began after being asked to explain what “loyalty” means to him. “It would be unheard of that someone would go to their agent to talk about deals and the stylist would be there.”

    Law said that from the very beginning, one of the most powerful things Zendaya did for him was continuously ensuring his voice was heard — even when people tried to undermine him.

    “She was a young girl, and you know, you’ll be in these rooms sitting across from all these people, and they would talk, and I would make a point, and they would almost try to make me feel invisible,” he said. “And she will just [be] like, ‘What did you say again, Law?’”


    “She made people respect me and respect my opinion,” he continued. “They would do something, and they’ll circumvent me and go around, and she’ll be like, ‘Well, what did Law say?’”

    Notably, Law also mentioned that Zendaya has “always made sure that [he] was taken care of financially” when it came to his work.

    “People would be like, ‘Oh, the rates are too high,’ and she’d say, ‘Well, you gotta pay that rate,’” he said.


    “I think to ultimately show people that you care about them, you have to be able to change their financial situation,” he added. “And that’s what she’s done for me.”

    Of course, Law emphasized that their bond goes both ways, saying they have always shown each other the same loyalty and care throughout their partnership.

    “I have protected her and been her protector and her big brother and her confidant and her closest collaborator since 2011,” he said. “So, when people ask me, ‘What does loyalty look like?’ That’s the only thing that I can think of.”

    His comments come after he talked about advocating for Zendaya when luxury fashion houses were reluctant to dress her at the start of her career.

    “I would write [to] the big five…and they would all say no. ‘Try again next year,’ ‘She’s too green,’ ‘She’s not on our calendar,’” he revealed on The Cutting Room Floor podcast in May, calling out designers like Chanel, Saint Laurent, Dior, Gucci, and Valentino.

    Now that Zendaya is one of the biggest stars on the planet, Law explained that she “still hasn’t” worn those designers for public events because they were so quick to turn her down all those years ago.

    “She still has never worn Dior on a carpet. She still has never worn Chanel on a carpet. She has still never worn Gucci on a carpet — any press, any appearance, never. Never,” he said. “The first time she wore Valentino in public is when she had a contract, so when I said, ‘If you say no, it’ll be a no forever,’ that rang true for a long, long time.”
