This Celeb Just Revealed She Doesn't Want To Star In The New Britney Spears Biopic, And It's Stirred Up TONS Of Discussion

Britney Spears' biopic is currently in the works, so we've all got our theories on who will star in it.

'90s kids, I hope you're sitting down: a Britney Spears biopic is officially happening.

It's going to be directed by Jon M. Chu, who also directed Wicked, and it'll be based on Britney's memoir, The Woman In Me — which essentially details her rise to stardom and major controversies. So basically, we already know the movie will be exceptional.

But that poses a BIG question: who will play Britney? Who has what it takes to fill those shoes? It needs to be a triple threat, a show-stopping pop icon capable of capturing massive audiences.

Well. The internet has proposed several options, causing rumours to stir — like Emma Roberts, Tate McRae, Sabrina Carpenter...or even someone completely unknown.

But another name TOOOONS of people have thrown around? Addison Rae.

We all know Addison started on TikTok, but don't let that fool you into thinking she's not right for the part. Not only is Addison a brand-new pop star the internet loves, but she's also a dancer. Plus, just like Britney, she grew up in Louisiana.

And Addison has really been bringing the Britney lately — a photo of her reading The Woman In Me recently went viral, and she also brought Britney-level dance energy in her "Aquamarine" music video.

So it's no wonder Addison was recently asked, in an interview with iHeart Radio, if she'd "ever be down" to play Britney in the biopic. And her answer definitely surprised me.

"That is so nice," she said. "I honestly don't think anyone deserves to play Britney. She is such an enigma and such an icon. I don't even think it's right to compare me to her at all."

She proceeded to praise Britney. "I think she really really created something that is untouchable — and so in its own lane that nobody will ever be able to truly replicate what she did for music, and even the entertainment industry, I feel."

"I don't know. I support anything and everything that Britney Spears wants to do in her life and career," she said. "And I think she'll have the best opinion in who she thinks that should be — and that's what I'm gonna lean on."

I personally believe that's the classiest way Addison could've put it. The internet, however, had mixed reactions:
