Area Girls Basketball: Oehrlein, Rangers handle Jaguars

Seven area girls basketball teams were in action Tuesday, Jan. 7.

HINCKLEY — Tori Oehrlein finished with 30 points and is believed to have broken Minnesota's single-game girls assists record by dishing out 21 assists to lead Class 2A’s second-ranked Crosby-Ironton Rangers in a 113-33 Great River Conference victory over Hinckley- Finlayson Tuesday, Jan. 7.

C-I's Regan Jueneman posted 16 points. Sammie Hachey tallied 14 points and Ryley Bartels scored 13 points for the 13-0 Rangers. Hailey Doucette added 10 points.

PEQUOT LAKES — Chelby Wothe posted 13 points for the Pequot Lakes Patriots as they beat the Pierz Pioneers 60-30 Tuesday, Jan. 7, in a Granite Ridge Conference and Section 7-2A matchup.

Pequot’s Alex Pietig added 12 points and June Ruud 11.

The Pioneers were led by Macy Sadlovsky’s seven points.
