Roberta M (Hottelmann) Flaherty OBITUARY
Roberta M. (Hottelmann) Flaherty passed away on September 26, 2024, in Dover, NH. A long-time resident of New Hampton, NH; North Quincy, MA, and Naples, FL, she was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, affectionately known as Mimi by her grandchildren.
Born and educated in North Quincy, Roberta graduated from North Quincy High School. She dedicated many years of service as a secretary to the editor at the Boston Herald, a role she performed with diligence and pride.
Roberta was deeply loved for her warm, caring nature, particularly cherished by her family. She is survived by her daughters, Gail (James) Sullivan, Karen Hartley, Joanne (Patrick) Lynch; her son, Paul (Jane) Flaherty; her grandchildren, Brendan (Janelle) Sullivan, Madison (Kevin) Trotman, Jillian, Devon, and Brooke Lynch, Paul “PJ” & Jordan Flaherty; and her great-grandchild, Emma Sullivan; her sister, Irene Gillis, and brother, Bill Hottelmann. Roberta was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Paul Flaherty and her sister, Joan Penzo.
An avid gardener, Roberta found joy in tending to her flower and vegetable gardens and was passionate about keeping numerous bird feeders active around her home. She cherished spending time at her house on Pemigewasset Lake in New Hampton, NH, surrounded by her family, creating lasting memories.
A Funeral Mass will be held in her honor at Devine Mercy Parish/Sacred Heart Church, 386 Hancock St., North Quincy, MA, on November 26, 2024 at 10:30 am. Those who knew and loved Roberta will gather to celebrate her life and legacy, remembering her as the loving and caring Mimi she was.
