The Fuji Green Hotel is a good pick for people looking to explore around the base of Mount Fuji. The hotel is across the street from Fuji station, so it is extremely easy to access for travelers, and there is a small-wheel bicycle visitors can borrow for free if they want to go further than walking distance. The room I stayed in was larger than I was expecting it to be, and had a nice view of the surrounding city. It probably has a good view of Mount Fuji as well, though I stayed during rainy and cloudy weather, so I cannot confirm it myself.

Really beautiful, relaxing and child friendly place to stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. The best we slept during our time in Japan. Loved the convenient location. 10 min walk to Kawaguchiko station and to boat ride. Appreciated the child safety gate for the stairs and the high chair for our toddler. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others traveling to this area. Place is just as pictured. We loved seeing Mount Fuji right outside the window.

Excellent location right next to the train station and with amazing mountain and mount Fuji views. I had low expectations for this 1-night stay as it was a budget choice, but was happy with the comfort and with the room, it served its purpose. The staff kept our luggage while we explored the area and was friendly, knowing a few sentences in Japanese definitely goes a long way. I was happy with it and would return if looking for a convenient and budget-friendly stay.

Our stay at the Mount Fuji View Hotel was nothing short of amazing. The room itself was beautiful, with an incredibly comfortable bed—honestly, it’s the best bed we’ve ever stayed in. Waking up to views of Mount Fuji every morning was an unforgettable experience. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, and their warmth and attentiveness truly made our stay special. And the food… just insane! You won’t regret booking this hotel.

The house is extremely well taken care of! The host was very kind to keep our luggage when we arrived earlier than check-in time, she also offered to drop us off at the train station after our stay. Also since we stayed on New Year's Eve, she cooked us a special mochi soup breakfast, yumz! Her English is great so nothing to worry about if you don't speak Japanese. Looking forward to going back someday to climb Mount Fuji :)

The staff was really keen to make our stay enjoyable. However the Hotel itself feels a bit stuck in the 70's vibe and could benefit from a soft renovation. The big plus is the amazing view over the Mount Fuji (on 1 side of the Hotel) and the transportation from the Hotel towards the City center (back and forth). Next to this, the hotel provides a full set of Kimono per guest, during your stay, which is really great.

The staff hospitality was amazing. They greeted us right from the moment we got off the car and helped to carry our luggage all the way to our room at 4th floor. Really appreciate the kind hospitality consistent throughout every single staff. Also a lovely view of Mount Fuji from our room. Suitable for anyone who wish to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life, and enjoy the still and quiet at Shoji Lake Hotel.

Hotel Is located with a superb view of Mount Fuji. The view is simply breath talking and magnificent. Breakfast spread offers amazing view of Mount Fuji with excellent food choices and spread. Hotel and room is very clean and very well maintained. When it comes to food exploration, spoilt for choices with restaurants lining up down the street. Will definitely return if we’re heading to Japan again. Highly recommended!!

The host was super kind, she is a very nice person that can pick you up and drop you at the train station. It is a traditional Japanese house that is cozy, warm (I went during winter) and very important for me, it was so clean. Also, our room was quiet big and comfy and, the bathroom was very spacious with spare toilets (one for girls and one mixed). You a view of the Mount Fuji from the balcony, which is a plus!

I like that the room is spacious and clean ! The bathroom and shower room are separated and that the main transport hub is just within few mins of walk. The staff is patient and professional. We appreciate that he let us store our luggage after checked out. View of Mount Fuji is just right outside the main entrance of the hotel. We highly recommend JINYA Fujikawaguchiko Hotel to anyone coming to Kawaguchiko!

One of the best hotels we booked in Japan. Big and spacious room. From the top terrace, Mount Fuji view is great. There are a lot of welcome things when arrival and staff was super great and nice. We had some problems in our trip and they were so helpful and willing to help. There is a free shuttle bus hotel-train station and we also rented electrical bikes, which was a great experience. Polite and helpful staff when we arrived to check in. Hotel was very clean and the rooms were comfortable and quiet. Nice selection of food to choose from at dinner and breakfast. The best bit for us was the view of Mount Fuji from our room and also whilst enjoying the onsen. It really was worth the extra journey on our 2 week break around Japan. We also enjoyed the lake walk at dawn.

The room was traditional Japanese style with tatami floors and a “futon” style bed (that is assembled on the floor). The view was really lovely—could see Mount Fuji clearly in the morning (as well as from the upstairs onsen). Highly recommend as a simple no-frills onsen stay right next to the train station with easy access to the lake, the ropeway, and all the natural beauty.

Yamagishi Ryokan offers a wonderful location near Lake Kawaguchi, with stunning views of Mount Fuji that are truly memorable. The traditional Japanese ambiance, complete with tatami-style rooms, provides an authentic cultural experience. Although I didn’t have the chance to use the onsen, it’s a notable highlight that adds to the relaxing atmosphere of the property.

10 min walk from the station, view to mount Fuji from the couples room, the room is big and modern looking, clean and comfy. The entrance is beautiful and the coffee that was prepared for us was the best we had in Japan, it reminded us of home. Sadly the kitchen was closed on the night we stayed but 5 years a go when I stayed here it was great!

We had a wonderful stay at Hostel Michikusa-ya. Michi san was a fantastic host, our room was beautiful with an incredible view of Mount Fuji which you could also enjoy from the shared common room. The hostel is located in a nice quiet area only a short walk from the lake and the town centre. Would highly recommend!

Mount Fuji is right in front of the hotel,; decent Japanese breakfast but not so much for Western one; taking off shoes and placing them in lockers before going to the room was quite strange at first but soon it was comfortable to walk around in shoes provided, and clean; three free parking lots

It’s a cozy accommodation and giving you vibe of living a local life in Japan :) the surrounding area is quiet and picturesque… you don’t need to walk far to Honcho street to take those instagramable picture, just need to walk a bit and you can see the majestic mount fuji (if she’s not shy).

Traditional Japanese hostel. The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful - they helped to book a bus to Tokyo and even cut the end off our walking sticks from mount Fuji so it would fit in our bags. The hostel was very clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend staying here!

Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent location. Hotel surrounded by beautiful trees and lake Yamanakako with mount Fuji across the road. Really enjoyed relaxing in the onsen. There is a bar for drinks and all you can eat buffet with a large variety of tasty food. Highly recommend.
