The private house was very spacious and cozy. The owner was nice and friendly and recommended us some good restaurants. The newly built bathroom was clean. It might be difficult to access if you don’t have a car. A convenience store, a public bath and some good restaurants locate five mins away from the place. Good place for the price.

In the Ukyo Ward district of Shimo saga, close to Arashiama Bamboo Grove, 谷町君・星屋・談山旅館 京都嵐山 has a garden and a washing machine. The accommodations and location were absolutely perfect for our family. It was a wonderful place to recharge after spending the day exploring the surrounding area. The location was ideal for easily exploring with kids. The house had everything we needed and the staff was incredibly kind and helpful! We hope to stay again!

My first stay in Kyoto was near sumizome and I had a lovely time with my family there but walking around Higashiyama made me book this machiya this time around with friends...greatest decision ever! A walk away from temples and nice coffee shops and the Ghibli store. At night, a safe cool longer walk to Gion for Izakayas!
