Trump nominates Jay Bhattacharya to head US National Institutes of Health

President elect Donald Trump said he would nominate Jay Bhattacharya, who opposed lockdowns during the covid-19 pandemic, to head the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Like other Trump nominations he will need confirmation by the Senate to assume his position in January, when Trump takes office.
Trump said on social media, “Together, Jay and RFK Jr will restore the NIH to a Gold Standard of Medical Research as they examine the causes of, and solutions to, America’s biggest health challenges, including our Crisis of Chronic Illness and Disease.”1
