Lucy Letby inquiry: Former hospital boss denies claims he targeted doctors who raised concerns

The former chief executive of the Countess of Cheshire Hospital has described as “outrageous” a suggestion that he sought to ruin the careers of the consultants who tried to raise concerns about the neonatal nurse Lucy Letby.
Letby is serving 15 whole life terms after being convicted of murdering seven babies and attempting to kill seven others, one of them twice, from June 2015 to June 2016. The cluster of deaths stopped after she was removed from the neonatal unit in June 2016, but managers did not contact police until May 2017.
