Mpox: UK reports new case of clade Ib infection

A new case of clade Ib mpox has been detected in England, the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has disclosed.

The case was detected in Leeds, and the patient is being treated at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, officials said. The person had recently returned from Uganda, which is among the countries currently seeing community transmission of clade Ib mpox.
