Keep or Dump 2024

I usually do this after years end, but I am so beyond angry with this dumpster fire of a franchise (as I suspect most of you are). As Giants fans, we often disagree with each other a LOT. However I hope all of us can now agree that Daniel Jones should never see another snap just for our own mental health. If they need a QB they can sign my grandmother, she wouldn't do any worse.

Let me know what you agree with and disagree with

Jones: Should be cut immediately when that injury clause thing expires. DUMP

Lock: Should have kept Tyrod. DUMP

Devito: I'm fine with him being the third QB. He has familiarity with the system, as long as Daboll and Schoen return, which they should, then Devito has a spot for 2025. KEEP

Tracy: Schoen should buy his 2024 draft class steak dinners all offseason, they saved his job. Tracy is the second coming of Bradshaw, and really prevented Barkley's departure from being a glaring issue. KEEP

Singletary: I don't know why he all of a sudden forgot how to hold onto the football once he put on the NYG helmet. He's not bad but let's take the cap savings here. DUMP

Gray: Been saying this since I first saw him play in preseason his rookie year. He is trash. DUMP

Nabers: I'm not worried about the drops, and I know that may sound crazy. I think once he gets a competent QB those mental lapses will disappear. He knows Jones is trash and that by having him as the QB it essentially wasted his rookie year. Nabers is a bonafide WR1. KEEP

Slayton: I may be alone on this, but I want Slayton back. He's a genuine good receiver and is a leader in the locker room. He put his head down and worked through a dark time in Giants football. If he leaves, do we really trust Hyatt to fill his shoes? Especially since he likely wouldn't command a high salary. KEEP

Hyatt: I think Hyatt is more of a role player than a full time receiver. Obviously he has the tools to become a good, if not great player but he's not there yet. And with a potential rookie QB, we need reliable weapons which is why I would like to keep Slayton. As of now, Hyatt only gets on the field when a WR above him gets hurt. Maybe Daboll and Schoen are not properly evaluating his talent, but I feel it's more likely he isn't ready yet. KEEP

Robinson: Another guy I feel bad for. This is where I can blame the scheme just as much as the QB. Wandale is being used like a gadget player, a glorified extension of the run game. He catches four yard digs or slants and is immediately greeted by three swarming defenders. We need to use him like a proper slot receiver. KEEP

Hodgins: I don't know why Daboll or Schoen suddenly thought Hodgins was an inadequate player. I'm sorry, I'd rather have a quality receiver than a bad receiver who plays special teams. If Hodgins doesn't return, which is likely, it's not a huge loss but it's these minor misevaluations of talent that drive me nuts. Watch his 2022 tape and tell me he couldn't genuinely help an offense. KEEP

Johnson: A lowkey gem, and I wouldn't be shocked if he has a big second half of the season. He's been getting more targets and has been improving each week which is a promising sign that the staff actually CAN develop young talent. KEEP.

Manhertz: If you go off PFF grades, he's been a boon as a blocker and I value that tremendously. Obviously, he's not needed and if he left it wouldn't crush us. The Giants have a bad habit of letting quality veteran players depart in the past (and I will name examples in the comments if need be) without having solutions in place (KEVIN ZEITLER). I would keep Manhertz. KEEP

Bellinger: An adequate player, he's done nothing to lose his spot, and as TE3 that's all you can ask for. I'm confident he could step in and be TE1 if he was asked to. KEEP

Thomas: Maybe his 2022 season was an aberration. Maybe he is injury prone now. But he's, at worst, a competent LT. He's also a young player still so theoretically he could have his best years still to come. And with a potential rookie QB at the helm he'll be essential to whether or not that QB succeeds. KEEP

Runyan: I know the funds used to sign him could have gone to XM or SB, and I know that both of those guys will be All pros this year. I know that hurts us as fans. But that's not Runyans fault and he's been solid as a rock. Guard play has not been an issue this year. KEEP

JMS: Lowkey has been improving, albeit slowly and he has not become quite as good as a lot of us thought he would be. He's one of those guys that when he gets beat he gets beat bad, but he wins more reps than he loses by a good margin. KEEP

Van Roten: As with Manhertz, Van Roten is an older player. But if the alternative would have been Ezeudu, that would have been catastrophic. Difference between Van Roten and Manhertz is that I could see NYG drafting a guard, which hurts his chances to return. However, retaining quality players, regardless of age or whether or not we drafted them should be a top priority for this team after close to 15 consecutive disastrous seasons. We know too well what it's like to have a bad OL. KEEP

Eluemunor: He's a competent RT. We all hope Neal can build on the Carolina game, but I have serious doubts. Until Neal proves otherwise or the Giants acquire another quality tackle, Eluemunor is surprisingly one of the more important pieces on the roster. KEEP

Neal: It's a keep. He's been awful, a complete failure, and the fact that no one at the time, not even the best scouts, GMs, or draft analysts saw this coming makes it hard for me to blame Schoen. But if Neal can become competent and start building on his physical gifts, that will a long way towards the Giants getting back to winning football. KEEP

Stinnie: I'm indifferent.

Ezeudu: After Jones gets cut, he should be the next to go. I have never seen such incompetent play from an NFL offensive lineman. I feel like you would have to go out of your way to be as bad as he is. DUMP

Hubbard: Nightmarishly bad. DUMP

Dex: KEEP. and any trade talk is absolutely ludicrrous. If you think the Giants should trade him I want you to do me a favor and go root for another team.

Nacho: TRASH. And I hate how he celebrates making a tackle after a five yard gain while we're losing like he just did something. I would cut him today. DUMP

Davidson: All he does is get pushed back ten yards. DUMP

Chatman: Why he doesn't get more snaps is mind boggling. Another case of bad personnel usage by Giants coaches. KEEP

Riley: The fact Davidson and Nacho play week after week and continue to stink while Riley doesn't even get a chance is an indictment on the coaches for bad personnel usage and player evaluation. This is what people should be angry at Daboll for above all else. KEEP

Watts: Doesn't matter. We need to get 2-3 more competent D tackles, and I don't think he's one of them. DUMP

Burns: A win for Schoen, and probably something he'll point to as a reason he didn't get fired if he's back in 2025. Burns has been as good as advertised and I appreciate the intensity he plays with. KEEP

Thibodeaux: Another leap from him would be welcome, but even if this is who he is he is a fine player who will take advantage of the lesser NFL tackles. KEEP

Ojulari: His sacks are empty calories and he is, by far, the worst edge setting run defender I have ever seen. DUMP

Okereke: Not a great year, but I think you have two options here. Keep him because we know he's capable of elite play, and switching systems is often hardest on the Linebackers. It's not like he's been bad. You could trade him, but I don't see that happening. KEEP

Mcfadden: A lowkey area where I would look for an upgrade. Mcfadden is a Jekyll and Hyde kind of player. If he shows up he's great, but when he has his bad games it's awful. KEEP

Simmons: Why he isn't on the field more galls me. It is truthfully idiotic and shows that coaches don't know as much as they think they do. This guy is one of the best athletes in the entire league, and you're telling me we can't find room for him on a defense that creates no turnovers??? KEEP

Muasu: KEEP

Coughlin: I don't know if he's still on the team but lets lump in all the ST linebackers here. The punt and kick teams have been fine this year. I like continuity of personnel on ST. KEEP

Banks: He seems to be unmotivated, undisciplined, and he probably cares more about his paycheck than his performance. He gets beat on routes because he's out of position and clearly doesn't study film enough. He never swats at the ball when it's in the receivers hands, and the TD pass to Pickens that got overturned was one great example of this. It's a low IQ player. The Giants should be banned from drafting CBs in the first round. I know it's the wrong move to dump him, but he has been a top 3 worst performer this year. KEEP

Flott: Flott, like some other players has games where he plays well and other games where he plays bad. I think mostly though, he's been a fine player and should settle in as CB3 or CB4, and in todays NFL you need 4 competent corners. KEEP

Phillips: A beast around the LOS. He's one of the top tackling CBs in the league already, and is a player we as fans should have faith in to continue to improve and play with intensity. KEEP

Jackson: He is an average CB. CB might actually be the highest position of need after QB, so I expect a few new faces here next season. Jackson is likely gone. DUMP

Pinnock: I don't think we can make safety a priority this offseason, which would mean both Pinnock and Nubin will return as the team's starters, and while that isn't exciting, they are not liabilities. Pinnock is undoubtedly having a bad year though. KEEP

Nubin: I almost feel as if Pinnock and Nubin are both better at blitzing than they are at anything else. Neither one is much of a ballhawk or elite in coverage, but the Giants run defense has been the problem this year so in good conscience I can't complain too much here. KEEP

Belton: He is not an NFL caliber player. He'll be in the CFL before long. DUMP

Daboll and Schoen should return. Both have flaws but it has been Jones holding back the offense, and the team as a whole. If we're being rational, letting Schoen and Daboll draft "their guy" at QB and evaluating that guy is the right move as of now.
