There's only love in the building.

On Wednesday, Nov. 20, Meryl Streep hosted an Emelia Pérez screening and Q&A for Selena Gomez, who's been garnering Oscar buzz for her role in the Netflix film.

Gomez and Streep — who grew close while working on Only Murders in the Building — took questions from the star-studded audience, which included Martin Short, Annette Bening, Da'Vine Joy Randolph and more.

"Thank you SO much Colleen Camp for hosting and to my friend Meryl for celebrating @emiliaperezfilm - not me casually saying my friend Meryl," Gomez, 32, wrote on Instagram about the event. "It's Meryl Streep!! My idol, dream."

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Streep — who's a three-time Oscar winner — raved about Gomez's work at the event. "It was beautiful. It was beautiful. It was just a beautiful, smudged, sensual, incredible performance," she reportedly told Gomez.

During the conversation, the Rare Beauty founder also revealed she learned during the movie's press run that she had long nabbed the role — though she was the last to know.

"Apparently, I had the part, I just didn't know that I did. This is very confusing. I've been doing months of press with all of my amazing cast and crew, and then Jacques laughed at one of our last ones and said, 'I don't know why you say that you auditioned and waited. You had the part,'" recalled Gomez. "And so from now on, I just look at him, and I'm like, 'I spent nine months in hell waiting to know if I got in this movie."

Gomez has long been open about her admiration for Streep. Earlier this month the star recalled her first day on the Only Murders set with the icon, saying, "I'll never forget her being barefoot, singing on set, just loving what she's doing."

"I want that spirit, I want to always love what I do and be there for people," added Gomez.
