Why Timothée Chalamet Wanted ‘Best Friend’ Kylie Jenner With Him at the 2025 Golden Globes
Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet did not make their red carpet debut at the 2025 Golden Globes because, as a source told Page Six, Jenner “didn’t want to make [Chalamet’s night] about them.”
That Page Six insider spoke more about the private couple’s connection and why Jenner joined her boyfriend inside the ceremony. Chalamet wanted her there: It was “really important [to him that] Kylie be there by his side during one of the most meaningful moments of his life.”
“Timothée is used to attending award shows and events, but it was nice having Kylie there to support him,” the insider said. “Kylie really is his best friend and his biggest supporter. They have such a strong connection, and he was so thankful she could be there with him.”
The source also shared that Chalamet “felt a sense of comfort having Kylie there with him.”
Jenner wore a 1999 Versace dress to the show. She shared photos on Instagram of her big night but opted not to share any of her and Chalamet.
That said, show photographers got plenty of shots of the couple. Some included them kissing and generally being affectionate.
Chalamet and Jenner were first reported to be dating in spring 2023. They made their public debut that September at a Beyoncé concert in Los Angeles.
They don’t attend many events together, but they were also at the 2024 Golden Globes. Jenner spoke to ELLE for our November issue about why she doesn’t want to talk about her life with Chalamet in interviews. “I think it’s important to keep things to yourself,” she said. “It’s hard for me to make a decision by myself sometimes, so the opinion of the whole world…it can be tough.”
