Your dog is your baby's bestie for life. That's not just an opinion, it's pretty much a guarantee. You can see proof of the undeniable baby-puppy bond in a video of a Golden Retriever giving his human some kisses on his feet. The love is so, so real.

Someone needs to let Mustard babysit — he's obsessed with his tiny human! It's probably for the best that the dog hasn't been left without supervision. The little one is just too small to stay with their dog bestie without Mom and Dad.

The Golden was just dying to get a peek at the baby in the video his owner shared. Come on, Mom. Please let me see him. I'll be good, I swear!

The Golden Retriever clamored onto the couch for the chance to spend time with the little bub. As a gesture of affection, he then gave the baby some of the aforementioned kisses. It's like they were having tummy time together!

"Mustard doesn’t wait around for the fence to open," his owner joked in the caption.

The comments section was so in love with how much Mustard loves the baby. "Said hmm smells like my two favorite people put in one," wrote one person. "That baby is going to have the cleanest feet around," another commenter joked. "Mustard's love doesn't acknowledge fences," teased one person. "So sweet. He just can’t hold himself back. He wants to give kisses so bad," gushed another commenter.

Should Your Dog Meet Your Baby?

It's perfectly normal for an adult to worry about introducing their baby to their dog. Dogs are so large and unruly. Even the best behaved pups can get a little overzealous when they're excited. So it begs the question: should you introduce your dog to your newborn?

Yes! You can introduce your dog to your newborn. But you do want to do it in a way that will reduce risk of your dog accidentally hurting your baby. Something you can do is make sure your dog has had some exercise before meeting your baby. That will tire them out and get out some of that nervous energy.  Greet your dog separately before presenting your child to them. The key is that you want your dog to be calm when the interaction happens. If possible, it's best to wait until your baby is sleeping and calm themselves.

If the first meeting doesn't go well, don't push it. Separate the two and try again another time when your dog is a little tired and calm. Eventually the two will become besties! It just requires patience to make all of your children get along.
