What is an Amicus Member?
Membership in Amicus is reserved for companies that not only meet stringent standards but also embody our purpose to empower the solar industry through collaborative, ethical, and a conscientious approach to business.
Membership Requirements
Demonstrated Longevity and Financial Strength
Longevity reflects stability, resilience, durability, and experience successfully navigating the ups and downs of the solar industry. The average age of an Amicus member is over 20 years in solar and only companies with many years of experience are accepted (e.g., 10+ years in mature solar markets). Also, when a company applies to join Amicus, their financials are reviewed to ensure consistent profitability, strong cash flows, low leverage ratios, and no existing claims or litigation.
Excellent Reputations
All new members must receive excellent reviews from their customers (e.g., 4.5+ star rating), business peers, and our suppliers. Our members uphold a reputation for high-quality work and ethical business practices, reinforcing the trust placed in them by the communities they serve.
Quality of Work
Amicus members are committed to the highest standards of solar and storage project design and installation practices. Amicus prefers new member companies with multiple NABCEP certified employees, and potential members must exhibit an extensive track record of exceptional project installations, as it underpins the collective reputation of our cooperative.
Collective Purchasing
Members are expected to aggregate their purchases within Amicus supplier programs, which ensures each member benefits from our collective economies-of-scale with secure supply at low costs for the highest quality products.
Sharing Best Practices
Our members employ over 5,000 solar professionals with significant project development, design, and installation experience. Amicus connects them with others in similar job roles across our 80+ member companies to share and learn from each other. This allows each member company to tap the vast braintrust of our group to solve any challenge and ensure the highest quality of work.
Values Alignment
We look for members who exhibit care for their employees and communities through robust employee benefit programs, paid time off for volunteering, healthy community giving, and investments in employee training, safety, and professional development. Preference is also provided to those volunteering for their state or regional clean energy policy organizations.
Member-Ownership
Every new member company purchases a single share of common stock in Amicus. This financial investment solidifies a commitment from all Amicus members to maintain these membership requirements for the long-term.
This dedicated group of member companies does more than generate clean energy; they energize communities with responsible practices and a forward-thinking approach. By joining Amicus, members become part of a movement that sets the highest standards for conscientious business practices, united in purpose and action.
