This is a moderately challenging but rewarding trail with great views over the surrounding area as you make your way to the summits of Mynydd Farteg Fawr and Coity Mountain where you can also keep an eye out for the Dog Stone, a memorial to Carlo the Red Setter. Take care on the rougher sections, especially in wetter conditions and where the path is less distinct. This trail is best attempted in good weather with clear visibility as the trail is less clear in places and care with navigation...

Trail reviews for Abertillery
Windy hike with nice views Brecons as well as Bristol bay. The car park is currently closed. Even during this dry season, there is lots of mud and water in some parts of the trail, because of the deep bike ridges there.
Coity Mountain and The Dog Stone Circular
Great walk. Very good path, easy access for prams and wheelchairs. Not very busy. One very small area was muddy but that was due to the water coming down from the mountain. Nice and flat

Lovely walk with great views!!! Not the best day for a walk in the rain but an enjoyable one. Steep start. Dog was off lead for most of the walk but put him back on when we saw sheep.
