A-Z Trail

Relatively easy hike down to highland center from Zealand falls hut! Decided to detour to Mt Tom summit and snag a quick view on the way down… there is no view from the Mt Tom Summit. Still a great stop for a stretch and a snack on your way down! Not a technical hike, but the downhills are steep and poles are recommended!

Standard hike AMC Highlands Center (Crawford Notch) to Zealand Falls and back.

Really wet and muddy

The hike itself was beautiful. Middle mikes of A-Z are poorly, no, terribly marked so just be ready for that. Have a good understanding of where you’re going. We needed spikes as the trail was packed and icy. We post holed a few times at River crossings.

Freezing day muddy slippery

Long day. Over 4 miles and 4700 ft total elevation. Trails were mostly on good shape, though wet in many places. Zeacliff was steep and tough, but not overly.

A good way to get to the Zealand hut. A few blowdowns and needs some brushing back near the Zealand trail. A steep climb out of Crawford Notch.

Great trail, beautiful weather, didn't encounter a single soul on the way to the Zealand hut

Sunny, single digit hike up to Mt Tom with a slight detour to Avalon. Then break out A-Z trail to Zealand Falls Hut overnight. Then back down to Highland Center.
