A-loop and C2 Loop
Reviews
Somehow I got lost and ended up in the woods, keep a close eye on where the path goes.
Flooded in the last section. Walked back via the hike/bike trail. Decent trail. Parts are shared with horseback riders so watch out.
One section over down. The Metropark needs to maintain it.
It’s a horse trail… so yeah. I think I stepped in urine twice. Halfway through, they told me to make a turn that didn’t exist so I just turned around and went back the way I came. Beautiful trail. Didn’t see a single person so if solitude is your thing, this trail is for you.
One part of the trail was inaccessible, otherwise this was a nice trail
Mid June hike, pretty buggy with parts of trail being overgrown, had to detour a couple times. A little hilly compared to other trails in the park.
This was a random selection of trail segments for horse, cross-country ski and hiking. Just checking the other trail types out.
Can get kind of muddy and slippery in some parts if it has rained. Beautiful slightly hilly train though!
Great trail, great day. I had to bypass the section by the lake for a short while due to flooding but there is a path to get back on. Saw 5/6 deer.
Great trail. Not very many people this time of year. Some areas a pretty muddy. Still would recommend.
The small portion about halfway through the loop that connects the C trail to the West trail is not actually a marked/groomed trail. It’s overgrown with lots of thorny bushes - do what I didn’t and take the fox trail up to the West trail and cut down! The rest of the trail was good, not super well marked but easily findable with the map. Edit: we came back and my dog had TONS of ticks! Proceed with caution.
First 3/4 of the trail much dryer, the last 1/4 still very wet in 2 spots but easy to go around.
Spots are muddy but it’s spring in Michigan. I missed the cut off luckily my trail app told me I missed it. It’s really hidden. Very nice hike
Nice hike. One of the already way spot be aware of. I missed it and had to go back. Look for a sign behind brambles. That’s your spot. Ice is disguised, I fell.
Good Trail, lots of elevation changes (for Kensington Park), portions of the trail were extremely muddy. The connection from A-Loop to C-Loop was overgrown and missed it. On a Sunday, at peak times, it was a very secluded trail, the only signs of life on A-Loop were some horse tracks.
Portions of the trail don't exist any longer -- not being maintained.
There are some areas of this trail that were completely indistinguishable as an actual trail. If someone doesn’t have at least nominally good navigation skills they will absolutely get lost on this loop.
It was a Moderate trail to run but didn’t seem to follow the path very well. Overall a nice short trail. Also somewhat confusing if you don’t have a map
Trail has a lot of potential, but there are stretches where it appears poorly maintained. Part of the A Loop is muddy; lots of tall grass standing through much of the trail. Some parts are well-maintained and there is some elevation gain. This would seem better as an equestrian trail although horses are not allowed in some parts.
