Trail reviews for Upper Yosemite Fall
Great views today! But I believe that if the weather is nice, it must be stunning. Maybe next time.
Challenging for people who don’t hike often, amazing views, make sure you pack enough supplies and water as the streams were pretty dried up in October. I recommend hiking poles as the switch backs on the decent can be quite dangerous.
Best view of Half Dome I've seen! Bring plenty of water and/or filter at Lehamite Creek. That's the only place to get water this time of year besides Yosemite Creek. AllTrails is off a bit and said we were going downhill for about 1/2 mile when we were going straight uphill. And it suggested we had much more elevation gain overall than we actually recorded. Don't know which one was correct there.
Did this trail on October 19 with two nights on the trail, #1 night sleeping at the northeast point of the trail after the uphill from snow creek, (water available in porcupine Creek and snow creek) #2 night on west "bump/dome" of north dome (water available at lehamite creek, Indian creek and Yosemite creek). Saw 2 black bears. An amazing trail with gorgeous views.
Great views. Bugs and gnats were gnarly for like a half mile out the total 14 miles. I went through 3L of water easy, so bring at least that much, if not more.
