Easy to parkGreat views

Easy at first, the last part very demanding, rocky and steep to get to the top, but worth it. On the way back I got confused and went down on the right, and it took me to another side far from the starting point.

Lots of loose rocks and fine dirt equals unstable trail. Steep like walking up a ladder. Gorgeous views. Worth it!

Good route, difficult due to the slope in some areas, but my dog was able to get to the cross of the marquis.

Good route, the descent can be a bit technical, I recommend carrying poles, we made many breaks but it is a route that at a good pace would leave in about 5 hours, maybe 6.

Arrive early, bring water, wear appropriate footwear. The route to reach Pico del Aguila is more or less to follow the bruja straight ahead in a 240° SW direction and to return to the Abrevadero in a 60° NE direction.

Easy to parkGreat conditionsGreat views

Trail conditions were great. The climb is a bit steep, but manageable. The route is pretty direct, without many turns and no switchbacks. I went with a friend, and it was her first time climbing a mountain, and she succeeded wonderfully. This is definitely an excellent "beginner" mountain that is also very dog friendly. We lucked out and had great weather. Despite it being raint season, it was sunny with not a hint of rain. The one challenge is that there are many routes the crisscross, and there are even more false routes. While most are going to reconnect, we had to check gps multiple times, and we found ourselves off trail a few times. Take gps, and check it often.

The parking lot is not where the App says, it is 400 meters ahead. The descent along the path indicated in the App is very complicated, it gets lost in the vegetation. Otherwise the scenery is incredible, the route is not very crowded, ideal for those of us who like it that way. Something positive is that the way up is very well signposted, so I suggest going down the same place.
