This latest recall follows that of Trader Joe’s and Costco, which both issued recalls on several items made with ingredients connected to the listeria outbreak involving Rizo Lopez Foods, Inc. that caused 26 total illnesses, including 23 hospitalizations and two deaths. Which Products Are Included in the Recall? According to the company’s announcement, the recalled product Marketside Bacon Ranch Crunch Chopped Salad Kit was sold in “12.76oz, with UPC 681131305440 – Code dates starting with “TFRS” and BEST If Used By dates on or before Feb 21, 2024.” Customers can find these codes in the upper right-hand corner of the product. Walmart/Allrecipes The Taylor Fresh Foods Marketside Bacon Ranch Crunch Salad Kit also contains the recently recalled cheese from Rizo-López Foods, Inc. for potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. The Marketside Bacon Ranch Crunch Salad Kit was sold in Walmart stores in the following states: AL, AR, CO, DC, IA, KS, KY, LA, MD, MN, MO, MS, MT, NC, ND, NE, NY, OK, PA, SD, TN, TX, VA, WV, WY. To date, there have been no reported illnesses from this recall. Listeria infection can be severe and sometimes deadly to at-risk groups, including pregnant people, infants, adults over 65, and those with weakened immune systems. Symptoms can include fever, nausea, vomiting, convulsions, stiff neck, and loss of balance. Anyone who has consumed this product and develops symptoms should contact their healthcare provider immediately. What to Do if You Purchased This Recalled Item Taylor Farms Foods advises consumers who purchased this recalled item not to consume it but to throw it away immediately. Customers can also bring the item back to the store where it was purchased for a full refund.
