Original recipe (1X) yields 42 servings 2 (.25 ounce) packages active dry yeast 2 cups warm water 6 ½ cups all-purpose flour ½ cup white sugar 1 teaspoon salt ½ cup melted shortening 2 large eggs 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, or as needed Directions Dissolve yeast in warm water in a mixing bowl.
