Ingredients

Original recipe (1X) yields 10 servings

  • 1 cup white sugar

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted

  • ¾ cup sour cream

  • 3 large eggs

  • 2 teaspoons lemon extract

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

  • ¼ teaspoon baking soda

  • 1 tablespoon confectioners' sugar, or as needed (Optional)

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour an 8x4-inch loaf pan.

  2. Cream sugar and butter together in a large bowl until light and fluffy. Mix in sour cream, eggs, and lemon extract. Add flour and baking soda; mix until well combined. Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan.

  3. Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, about 1 hour.

  4. Remove from the oven and let cool completely, about 30 minutes.

  5. Remove loaf from the pan and dust with confectioners' sugar.
